Before venturing into art, Jamaican-born Lois Samuels graced the covers of Vogue, featured in campaigns for CK One, Estee Lauder and Banana Republic, and walked the runways for design houses Lanvin, Givenchy, Lacroix, Mugler and Lauren.
Lois Samuels’ series of paper works ‘Island Dreams’ reimagines photographs from her modelling archives. Using cut and past collage, Lois is literally deconstructing and restructuring her inner narrative. The works explore her dreams, life experiences, curiosities and possibilities, all the while carrying the underlying theme of self awareness, spirituality, love and empowerment.
