It’s My Identity

Sometimes looking inwards can be inspiration.

Jacob Adolpho recently came out as Non-binary during a styling and identity project at university.

I really wanted this project to reflect how I was feeling after figuring out my identity, I wanted to style myself in a more masculine form but then question the idea of masculinity through the colour in the photos. The silhouette is shapeless but strong and I paired the outfit with stereotypically feminine colours personally allowing me to express myself outside of gender constructs. I find that stereotypes are a key to my understanding of gender constructs and what it means to be apart from those.
