As guests arrived at the top of Place de la Concorde, to enter, and walk towards the show entrance. The atmosphere resembling more like a Cannes film festival vibe, rather than the typical fashion street-style photo opportunities for trend spotters & photographers alike.
A row of photographers and enthusiasts as well as ‘fans ‘lined up from the actual entrance of the main gates, rather than the usual closer to the official show entrance.
The presence of the K-pop fans elevated the atmosphere to at times hysteria found in a pop concert. Musicians, athletes and actors have often partnered with luxury fashion brands, and in Paris after the pandemic in 2020, this has exploded, at times the media focus prevailing over the fashion itself.
Street-style is also an opportunity for emerging creatives, particularly designers to be discovered by posing at length for photographers and enthusiasts alike.
In the 9 years of covering inside and street-style photography, the key for me is to authentically capture the ‘trends ‘and individual style of the guests rather than be influenced by the ‘celebrity status’.
However, with Dior the K-pop this year took on a festival atmosphere, blue balloons with the backdrop of the pop-up venue for the show, combined with the unusually warm Autumn in Paris, even I couldn’t help but catch a little of the star fever!
