‘Enlaces, threads that bind us as one, like the intertwined roots of Mother Earth, growing together, rising as one’ Sydney, 2025

Curls of hair twisting, tendrils of vines encircling, hands interlinking and bodies wrapping around each other. Waves lapping on a shore, flowers and leaves reaching for the sun, hands clasped in unity, grass waving in the breeze.

In others words the need to link and touch is both in nature and us, and the natural is how beauty and nature twist around each other.

The simplicity of plaited hair, of skin enhanced but not camouflaged, of fashion looking towards too real. The opposite of enhancements, of unreal imagery and of celebrating the artificial. New beauty in hair and makeup celebrates the human, the personal, our individuality and differences.

New modern style can also offer a fresh story in the understated and the understandable, where the role of the editorial team is to enhance and refine, not change the model’s persona.

In these images we see an enhanced beauty but not an artificial beauty, we see a complex narrative and a simple story at the same moment. Just as twisting and turning need not be a signal of stress, but merely a stretching towards and into the light.

The thread of nature, the roots of beauty. Reaching for harmony and reaching out to touch, to merge into each other and the landscape.

Try not to make fashion so complex in an age of anxiety, try not to dig too deep for meaning or subtext, learn to accept beauty in fashion and nature as varied and diverse, enlaced, see the light.
